I have three e-mail accounts in my outlook express.(in win XP) I can only send e-mail out on one of them, my defalt account. I found this in the tips section: "To send e-mail using an account other than your default, select the other account from the FROM field at the top of the new message."
Great. So I look all over, and I can't seem to find any "FROM field at the top of the new message". Obviously, I am missing something here. Can someone translate this into something I can understand? Or, better yet, tell me how to send mail out using an account "other than my default account"?
Thanks In Advance.

No From? When you click on New Mail and the New Message window comes up, there should be From: (with your default addy), To:, Cc:, and Subject:. On the right side of the (From) field there is a drop-down menu button. If you have properly set up other accounts in OE they should be there.

Nope, no From. To, Cc,and Subject are there, but no From. I guess I must have set it up wrong at the beginning. Is there a way to go back in and fix this?

Well, I receive mail in all three accounts, so I guess I do?

Well, I receive mail in all three accounts, so I guess I do? Well then, that is odd! Not sure, maybe something simple that I never had to deal with. ?? You could reinstall IE. Not completely sure, but you should be able to select OE only for install. Keep us posted.

Found the solution. In OE6>Tools>Accounts>Mail>Properties>Servers>Outgoing Mail. Changed "mail.xxxxxxxxx.com" to "smtp.charter.net"(Charter is my internet provider). Now my e-mails go out.
Was told by the person who gave me this info that this is a design feature to prevent spammers from routing through other servers
Charter, Earthlink, and a few others have done this to prevent spamming.
