any suggestions about forcing a multiplier? i know there's a few sites that show you how the pin configuration is done if you wanna manually force a multiplier, im up to it if needed then i wont have to worry about sending it back recieving it ect

i found out the 2600s multiplier for 333bus is 12.5 excellent, now time to bust out the conductive pen and connect some pins

Before you mod the chip...are you sure, your board can handle this CPU...Are you sre it isn't actually a 266 FSB CPU or that you'r board can only take up to 266?
Check becuase if you go ahead and mod it, you can't get and RMA unless you are a liar.

and what was that about me a liar tigerdirect wont accept opend CPUs unless i talk to AMD but anyways its a good chip and YES my board can handle this CPU it can handle a 3200+ barton if needed but not the new 400mhz ones ya know KT333 obviously dont knoe chipsets, im blowing some steam off cause if you knew your PC parts you would know that a KT3 Ultra 2 has a Kt333 Chipset and that chipset can handle 333mhz memory, and also i've had a 2100+ modded befor if you didnt notice my signature befor i updated it believe me i know what im doing, jus dont like to be called a liar when you dont know what im using first EX: My Hardware
PS AMD do some reasearch befor you call me a liar

Listen, i personally do not read someone's signature to figure out their system. I do not mean to call youa liar at the moment. If you misunderstood me, what I emant ot say is that if you mdded the chip and then asked for an RMA, oyu'd be lying. It wouldn't be fair. I could care less how much steam you have to vent. Obviously you got hosed. That chip is not what it was advertised to be unless your specific board is not identifying it correctly. The liar comment is not referring to wha t you stated about your parts but rather that RMAing a part by using false claims would be a lie becuase no reseller takes back modded merchandise. (None that I know of) Oh yeah, and I do do reserach. Details do help you know. You coulda said more. If you really want to make this worse, keep on

alright that part i understand now my fault for getting pissed, modded merchandice who said it'd be on the CPU there's pins on the back of the motherboard for the CPU so jus connect them. and about making things worse if i wanted too i would but no need too

not to start anything again but you still should've known that a KT333 chipset supports 333mhz ddr ;D

Guess what....it isn;t news to me that KT333 is fully compatible with the RAM but that is not even part of the topic here. You asked about your CPU!

When you are asking for help, you usually don't joke about it. Yes you did bring up the motherboard but that still doesn't rule out that you could've gotten the wrong chip to start with. You never really know what goes on behind the scene. Maybe some guy in the warehouse slapped that stick on it. You never really know. Anyways, reset the CMOS and then tell me what it says about your CPU. If it doesn't recognize it as what it supposedly is, then you need to uograde your BIOS software via MSI LiveUpdate...

Do you have another board to test it on?

If you have another board or if oyu can get to someone's board, test it on their's and see what i sayy Other wise you will have to manually select the right things.
