Anyone here ever work on a Compaq Proliant 1500 server? I have the gutz of one, but Im lacking a power source. The board has propriotory PSU headers and I cannot find any documentation or specs for the actual hardware and board. If anyone here has any knowledge on the subject, I would appreciate some shared knowledge!

Try e-mailin compaq maybe? ;D Ever go to a HP/Compaq sponsered forum? If you ask for any thing like a driver, manual or specs, the mods respond with a request for your email. They do this so they can request a serial # of the server your asking about! I requested a spec/repair manual for this old beast and got that response. Unfortunatly, when my friends and I were dividing up the booty of a bunch of thrown puters and servers, the case went one way and the innards went my way. I should have known to write down the serial, but I didnt. The case is long gone. I got a disk array also that I would like to get running...again just the inner racks and disks...nice 4gig seagates with removable bays. Lesson learned. The proliant is junk by most standards...its hanging on my wall along with many other mobos...but everytime I walk past it, I ponder another attemt to get it to run. Got the compaq EISA SMART array card also. Would make an excellent Linux server. RH drivers and config manuals are available for it. Hey, you like my new avatar? I was installing word on a friends system and caught the little devil with Hotshot and a little PS work later and here he is! ;D
