I am attempting to use a UPF150 switcher PSU(150W) to power up a Forcom M396 386 board. It will not power up the board...or it will not boot. I do see a small flicker when I turn the power on , but thats it. The PSU supplies 5v, 12v, -5v and -12v. I have supplied 5v to the PG pin. If this didn't work on other boards, I would probably have just given up, assuming something...I dont know. lol But, it WILL power up other boards! I tested it on another 386, several 486s and even 2 socket7s with Pentium 200mhz. All booted up and ran fine. I keep thinking it may be something to do with the PG signel not being stable? Yet, I just ran a test using an Amtron pm-7400 socket 7 w/P133 OCed to 200mhz with 3hrddrives, floppy and 2 cdroms. I ran fdisk and formatted the drives for a test. Did the job fine. I planned on using the board and PSU because of their size for a router build, but it looks like I ran into a wall.
help! Any ideas?

Did you try swapping in the 386 processor from the board that does work to the board that doesn't work?

Did you try swapping in the 386 processor from the board that does work to the board that doesn't work? The board itself runs great. I have a couple of these. They are tiny boards with amd 386 soldered on. The PSU is a small 150watt switcher SBC(single board computer) PSU. I think the problem is something to do with the PG signal. It may need a delay before the board is actually powered up. Not sure. Its strange.
