I set up my own speakers. From different manufacturers and put them all together. I can acheive 7.1 witht he custom setup I have... I am a big fan of those Logitech speakers though but I'm not willing to pay for them yet...There are other more important things for me to do right now.

I'm half deaf, so I always go with mid-quality, whatever is on sale. I can tell when the speakers are cheap, but beyond middle quallity is lost on me. Currently using Harman/Kardon model # HK395.

I can't see the speaker transitioning qualtiy to sound that great during a movie or game, cause different pairs of speakers have different quality, so when a sound movies to your rear channel (for an example) and those speakers are of poorer quality of your front things will dsound uneven and poor, just my 2 cents

It sounds fine to me...All of the speakers are of the same rating...It actually worked pretty well. I was surprised because I was worried about the same problem when I did this but hey, I got luckky I guess. I'll get rid of them soon though to make room for whatever I purchase later....

Isn't it a pain having 2-4 different volume controls?

Isn't it a pain having 2-4 different volume controls? I leave them all on max and use the one that they all feeed through as well as the Windows sound control to change the volumes.

Ya, and more trouble than it's worht as well by the sound sof it ;D Yeah, I disassembled that setup quickly..That was a hassle to put together but the overloading and feedback was pretty bad... I'm never doing that again. I just wish Windows would allow the use of two sound cards at once...If there is a way, I haven;t figured it out yet.

I think there's a program that will allow it, (use alot of processing power) but I can't remembe it exists or not, if i come acrosss wut i'm thinkin of I'll let ya know ;D

Thanks...but if it takes too much CPU cycles then it'd be no use to me... I might've jus been dreaming, but it would make sense that if sucha program existed it would have to use alot of processing power to create four+ channels, then send each channel to a corresponding sound card, onto 2+ sound cards, make sense? ;D

I'm happily satisfied with my recently purchased Logitech Z-640 5.1 channel speakers. Floor shaking bass, and very little if any distortion. I haven't cranked them to max yet.

When I heard those speakers in the store they sounded like they had poor bass, but I guess they would sound better in a smaller room, I would say you should've got the Z-680's but their they're prolly bout 4x more $$$ than the Z-640's you got ;D
